With our summer camp coming to an end, we have planned an amazing finale. This Wednesday we will be having our annual Carnival Day, full of fun games, face painting, and prizes. Campers will get to enjoy some popcorn and cotton candy, while participating in a fun filled afternoon.
On Friday, we will be holding our Family Appreciation Day. Parents, grandparents, family, and friends are invited to enjoy an afternoon of skits, awards, and a big surprise to send our campers off with a bang. Families are asked to arrive between 2:00 - 2:20 to get a good spot on the lawn. We will start our skits at 2:30 sharp, parents will not be disappointed. Our campers and staff have put a tremendous amount of effort into these skits.
Here are some great pictures to end our summer with!!!!!

The Viking group spent a week building a paper mache volcano. Every camper took part in the construction and all had an important role. Our Viking Counselors Mad and Kyle brought in a few diet cokes and a package of mentos. Campers got a chance to sit and watch the eruptions during their arts and crafts program!!!!
The link below on youtube is private…..If someone searched for it on youtube they would not be able to find it……..We hope you enjoy our video!

Fair Acres Summer Camp has been a huge success this summer due to our staff’s energy. Today was just another example of the amazing job they have been doing!!!!. Counselors took part in our annual fashion show, where they dressed to impress, but the real fun began when our campers got a chance to paint their own counselors faces. Here are a few pictures from this amazing event!!!

Our camp’s oldest group the Bull Dogs, put on a luncheon for the entire camp!!!! Campers were treated to an outdoor restaurant setting at Fair Acres Summer Camp. The Bull Dogs decorated picnic tables, made pop corn, and helped prepare over 100 hot dogs, that were served to every camper. It was a great time and learning experience for our oldest group. Here are a few pictures!!!!

Our annual Camp Fire Night for our oldest campers was yet another success this summer!!! Campers in our Vikings and Bull Dogs groups stayed after camp to participate in fun activities. The event went from 4:00 p.m. till 8:30 p.m. We started the night off by collecting roasting sticks, then we all took part in a fulfilled scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt had some great twists this year and created excitement throughout the night. Our campers then enjoyed a swim a dusk with our counselors, followed by a cookout put on by Camp Owners Jodi and Curt Larson. Campers got to enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers, watermelon, chips, and fruit punch. After dinner we all joined together to listen to scary stories performed by campers and staff. We can’t wait till we hold our next Camp Fire Night during fourth session!!!!!!!!!!!

Our first specialty day this summer was Color Wars. This is a long lasting tradition here at Fair Acres Summer Camp. The campers split up into two teams (Blue and Red) and square off in fun activities all day long. They also compete in team chants, body painting competition, and tug of war. This year the blue team brought home the championship!!!!!!!!!!!!   This day would not have been so successful if it wasn’t for our amazing staff and parent involvement.  A special thanks to both!!!!!!!!!

Summer Camp 2010 at Fair Acres has taken off. Campers have brought some great energy to camp thus far and our counselors were ready. Despite the heat wave we have received this week, the camper’s spirits are as high as ever. Campers took part in an awesome sing along that was performed by our own Bull Dogs counselor Julie, followed by mummifying our counselors.
Here are a few pictures from this morning’s circle activity.

Last week we held orientation for our 2010 Summer Camp staff. Each year our goal is to create a team atmosphere at Fair Acres during training. We decided this year to send our staff on a scavenger hunt around the Barnstable/Marston’s Mills area. Our counselors were split up into two groups and given an envelope containing all that was needed to complete their mission. When the counselors went outside to start their hunt they were greeted by two stretch limos. We would like to thank the local businesses that assisted us during our scavenger hunt. Our counselors had an amazing time bonding and creating a great start to the summer. Here are a few photos.
