Fair Acres Students Are Movin’ & Groovin’!!

Thursday, Apr. 26th 2012

We are so thankful to see the sun and Spring weather return. With this turn of weather we are spending even more time outside playing on our 7 acre campus. Bike days have returned and we are offering a great variety of Spring sports as afternoon enrichments. The first to kick off will be this Saturday with our T-Ball team. T-ball students lead by Craig Davidson (Fair Acres camp director and Bourne High Baseball Coach) will be hitting the field for 5 weeks to learn the ins and outs of t-ball! Next week, we kick off tennis on Mondays, Soccer on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and KidFit returns on Wednesdays. We have had a wonderful response to all of these activities and can’t wait to get started! With childhood obesity on the rise, we are proud to say Fair Acres is doing our part to promote happy, haelthy habits. Our kids are on the move and having a blast doing it!

Hooray for Spring!

Monday, Mar. 5th 2012

We have had a very mild Winter on the Cape this year which meant plenty of time playing outside at Fair Acres! We did not have quite so many frozen toes and runny noses, but we made the most out of playing in the snow that did fall. The kids had a blast and enjoyed every flake! Now we are ready to put the cold behind us and move happily into Spring! We began registering for our 2012-2013 school year in January and classes are already filling up. Call the office and speak to Jodi or Jen (508) 420-3288 if you have not registered yet so you don’t miss out! In another week or so, we will begin registering for Summer Cmap 2012. Summer will be here before you know it! As always, we continuously strive to make each summer bigger and better than the last. We are confident 2012 will be no exception!

The Busiest Time of the Year!

Wednesday, Dec. 7th 2011

Everywhere you go, people are bustling about this time of year and Fair Acres is no exception! We have holiday lights and decorations making our seven acres beautiful, Christmas trees in our classrooms, and we are learning about family holiday traditions. Fair Acres has fun celebrating all of the holidays that come about in December and the children could not be more excited! We are lighting our menorahs and spinning dreidels for Hanukkah, decorating Christmas trees and playing Santa for Christmas, talking about the Winter Soltice, setting the table for Kwanzaa, and making a new year’s resolution to ring in 2012! It is hard not to feel all the excitement this month!

Fair Acres Annual Halloween Party

Wednesday, Nov. 2nd 2011

Fair Acres celebrated Halloween with our annual family Halloween party on Friday October 28th! It was a hit, as always, thanks to the participation and support of our wonderful Fair Acres families! Throughout the morning we enjoyed an array of tasty treats. We also participated in games in the field such as pumpkin bowling, an obstacle course over bales of hay, a parachute game, potato sack races, spooky fishing and more! One of the biggest hits is always the hayride around the field. The morning was concluded with a costume parade around the field to thunderous applause from our Fair Acres parents! We are so happy to have such wonderful parent participation. The children, staff, and families had a wonderful day!

Here are a few photos from our fun morning!

We were even lucky enough to have the CapeCod Times visit us! Here is a link to the CapeCast video of our Halloween Parade!

Circle Time

Tuesday, Jul. 19th 2011

Ask any camper who Mr. Fun and Mr. Awesome are and they can tell you. Counselors Cam Larson and Billy Sullivan created alter egos, the wheel of fun, and a dynamic personality during camp last year to try and spice up our circle time festivities. This year they have added a theme song and shirts to create an even more electrifying atmosphere at our favorite morning activity.  Take a look at the photos below to become familiar with this week’s stud counselors!!!!

COLOR WARS

Monday, Jul. 18th 2011

Our first specialty day was a big hit!!!!!   The campers were split up into two teams Red vs Blue and competed all day long to see who this year’s champion would be. Camp favorites like garbage collector, the plunge, and counselor hunt were part of the festivities. It came down to our last event (counselor hunt) to decide a winner. The red team took home this year’s championship with the final score being 2150 to 1950.  Thank you to the staff and campers who made it such a special day!!!!!
